The center of rotation is set about the geometrical center of the dataset. This is builtin to the rotation code (thd_rot3d.c, thd_shear3d.c, etc.), and would be hard to change. Nor is it clear what you mean by wanting to change 3dvolreg; perhaps you mean 3drotate?
