Try changing the "-DUSE_TRACING" in the makefile to "-UUSE_TRACING". This will at least remove the traceback macros inserted in the code, making it a little less complicated. You might also try reducing the optimization level from -O2 to -O1 or lower to see if this helps.

Not having a system like you describe, I'm afraid I can't help much more.
