I use Debian 3.0 for the PowerPC on an 8500. My recommendation (if it is easy enough
to try) is to try to use gcc 2.95 as your compiler. The compiler and library versions on
Debian tend to be a little older, but they do compile AFNI 2.52a cleanly on my system.
