AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi,

Brenna Argall and Peggy C. Christidis have created surface models of an averaged anatomical data set. The data used was the average of 27 anatomical data sets created by the MNI and UCLA groups (see Holmes, C.J. et al. J. Comp. Asst. Tomograph, 22(2):324-333). Talairach transformation was done using AFNI.

You can use these surfaces to display functional data in Talairach space without having to create surface models for individual subjects. If this sounds too good to be true, it might very well be. You may miss quite a bit of activation because of anatomical differences between brains. I think these surfaces are mostly useful for display purposes. So use with care!

The archive containing these surfaces is available on SUMA's web page:
