Hi,
I have a very fundamental questions regarding waver and stimulus timing. The document 'sample data analysis with 3dDeconvolve' describes three classes of stimuli, a motor stimuli and two visual stimuli. My question is, why isnt the frequency of visual stimuli important? Why is it assumed that the stimulus sample spacing matches up with acquisition spacing? I used the waver program to calculate the response to similar stimuli, but with a TR = 46 seconds. The magnitude of response (-peak =100) was ~10^-23, which does make sense to me. I assume that 'piling up' stimuli makes the response observable.
Why is this experiment not a candidate for 'irregular stimulus timing'? The only reason that comes to my mind reflects my ignorance of experiment design; maybe visual stimulus experiments dont regard each 'flicker' as a seperate event...
Dr. Cox, I have spent enough time(i think...) looking around the AFNI website to know that silly questions are your pet peeve, so, i apologise just in case...
Sincerely,
Shantanu
