AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Doing the t-tests outside the ANOVA, is it similar to doing post-hoc tests within an ANOVA? How does it affect the error terms?
As I understand, it is not an easy fix to implement the ability to do contrasts within the 3dANOVA3. I guess what I am getting at is the statistical implications, if there are any, of doing t-tests outside the ANOVA. I assume there are none???

Gang was implying that the 3dANOVA2 type 3 would afford me more power? My understanding is that by using a mixed model, it accounts for or controls for subject variability?

Could you please comment

Thanks

Jen
