AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

I would like to align a a set of high-resolution in-plane anatomical images (resolution 256x256x16) with a 3D hires dataset (resolution 256x256x124) . The alignment will require shifting, rotating, and ideally I would like to be able to do expansion/contraction as well.
I already have the 3D hires dataset in Talairach space. Once this is done, I need to find the location in Talairach coordinates of a selected voxel in the in-plane dataset. For example, I might need to know the talairach coordinates of voxel 68,124 on slice #5 from the in-plane anatomicals. In AFNI, I only see how to position the cursor with the readout showing in mm. After the transform has taken place, it isn't simple to figure out how to get to the desired voxel with the cursor (other than by computing the transform).
I haven't been able to find a way to do this in the FAQ or message board (although I suspect that it may be there somewhere).

Thanks for the help

Christopher
