AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

The AFNI98 directory is old old old. The linux_gcc32 directory (compiled for RedHat 9.0) is up-to-date. Get rid of AFNI98 and use linux_gcc32 in your path.

AFNI98 was a joke name I created about the time Windows 98 came out. As with most jokes, it now seems dated, stale, and pointless.

Here's a joke that is timeless:

A biologist, physicist, and mathematician are standing on the street, observing a house they believe to be empty. Two people enter the house. After some time, three people leave. Each professional interprets this data in the fashion appropriate to his expertise:

Biologist: they must have reproduced.

Physicist: experimental error

Mathematician: if one more person enters the house, then it will be empty again.
