AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi,

In the 3dDeconvolve manual, example 1.4.3.2, I noticed that in an older version, prior to the addition of the stim_base option to 3dDeconvolve, the estimated motion parameters were incuded in the full model to "subtract" motion from the measured response. In contrast, after the addition, the stim_base option was used to include the motion parameters in the baseline model to "subtract" motion from the measured response. As the newer version of the 3dDeconvolve.ps file shows the stim_base method, I am assuming that it was determined to be the better of the two methods. Assuming that using the older method is not incorrect, are there any conditions that would make it more appropriate to include the motion parameters in the full model than in the baseline model?

Thank you,

- Jay
