AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

If you have the latest version of AFNI, you can make some nice video art by the following steps:

1) Open an image viewer on a high-res anatomical dataset
2) Click the Colr button (top right corner of the image viewer)
3) Open the Disp controller, set Tran 2D to |FFT2D|
4) Open Edit Environment (e.g., Button-3 popup menu in image), scroll to bottom, set AFNI_VIDEO_DELAY to 200.
5) Turn crosshairs off (e.g., in the main AFNI control panel).
6) Press the 'v' keyboard key while the focus/cursor is in the image sub-window.
7) Use the Button-3 popup item Image Display to hide the image control widgets.

Et voila! Further artistic variations are at your discretion.

Pressing the space bar when the focus/cursor is in the image will stop the video mode (which is scrolling through the slices, 1 per AFNI_VIDEO_DISPLAY milliseconds).
