AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi Jeremy,

Currently 3dVol2Surf requires 2 surfaces for a directional
segment computation. I have yet to add any option for this
based on the surface normals (one reason is that the normals
are often less accurate (another is that I have been too
distracted by other things)).

What _is_ currently possible is to compute segments that are
a set number of mm from one surface, but that is still in
the direction of a second surface (using '-f_p1_mm 2' to
specify going 2 mm from each point on surface A, toward the
corresponding point on surface B).

Adding an option to apply the normals instead is still on
the todo list, though...

How important do you feel this is right now?
