AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

hi there!
i am trying last days to install afni on our sun workstation (Solaris 8 s28_38shwp2 SPARC), but up to now without success...

first attempt:
binaries for solaris2.8

I get following message after executing afni command:
* Version check: [afni.nimh.nih.gov]

GPL AFNI: Analysis of Functional NeuroImages, by RW Cox (rwcox@nih.gov)
This is Version 2.55j of 04 Dec 2003

Thanks go to M Belmonte for great efforts

** Couldn't open /export/home/albena as session OR as dataset!
*** No datasets or sessions input -- Dummy dataset created.
Time series = 0 files read
Fatal Signal 11 (SIGSEGV) received
*** Program Abort ***
=================================
before the program abort a new window appear every time, and also a logo with a photo of the afni group comes.

secondly i tried to compile the source with Makefile.solaris28_gcc... Compilation runs for some minutes, but then i get:
=====================================
gcc -O2 -ffast-math -DSOLARIS -DSOLARIS_DIRENT_ZERO -UUSE_TRACING -DDONT_USE_MCW_MALLOC -DBAD_BUTTON3_POPUPS -o 3dNLfim 3dNLfim.o -Wl,-E -L. -L/usr/dt/lib -L/usr/openwin/lib -s -lmri -lXm -lXt -lX11 -lm -lsocket -lnsl -lgen -ldl -lc
/usr/ccs/bin/ld: illegal option -- E
usage: ld [-abc:d:e:f:h:il:mo:p:rstu:z:B:D:F:GI:L:M:N:P:Q:R:S:VY:] file(s)
=====================================
and it is aborted...

the last thing i tried was to compile with some of the other Make-files (i tried both Makefile.solaris28_suncc and Makefile.solaris) then i get:
===========================================
/export/home/albena/afni_src> cp Makefile.solaris Makefile
/export/home/albena/afni_src> make totality
/bin/rm -f to3d.o
cc -fast -Xa -w -DSOLARIS -c to3d.c -I. -I/usr/dt/include -I/usr/openwin/include
