AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi.

I have 3 questions related to afni analysis:

1. Is there a way to calculate the minimum number of events per condition necessary to run a fMRI analysis?

2. In one experiment there are 10 observations for condition A and 25 for condition B. Does an unbalanced design have any influence on the statistics when doing deconvolution in AFNI?

3. Let's suppose there are only 5 events for condition A (auditory task) and 5 events for condition B (motor task). Is there a minimum of events required to activate different regions of the brain ?
In our case is it possible to get activation only in primary auditory cortex and not in motor areas, even if the number of events was equal in both tasks (auditory and motor)?

Thank you.
Teodora
