AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi Jodene,

As far as I know, there are no AFNI tools that will give you
automated, accurate results, if that is what you are looking
for.

GyrusFinder, which has not been enhanced in about six
years, will probably give you a pretty quick estimate (after
you learn how to use it). If you first run 3dUniformize and
3dIntracranial, you should be left with what is mostly white
and gray matter. You could then use GyrusFinder to
segment the remaining matter with only a little interaction.

If you are interested, please read through the plugin's Help
section (open the plugin, and press Help), give it a try, and
let me know what questions you encounter. The Help gives
a brief outline of steps for getting started.
