AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi Bob,

Thanks for the reply.

For the RT-PCR (expression data) we used total RNA harvested from specific brain regions in cadaveric human brain donors commercially available from Ambion.

Unfortunately the RT-PCR data is not in 2D format. Our RNA samples were harvested from specific regions of the brain, such as thalamus, hypothalamus, inferior temporal lobe, etc., but these gross discriptions do not approximate the fine steroscopric resolution of MR, CT, or PET. And in fact, we cannot lateralize our data to left or right side - in fact it is possible that some of our samples were harvested from pooled left and rigth sided samples (we can never know). All this means that we have to project our data onto gross 2D or 3D structures. I received some emails from folks who said they have ready-made "templates" for some of these structures, but I am yet to see any figures.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Jeff
