1) Parent relationships are stored by ID codes, not filenames.

2) I assume you mean in the titlebar of the window? At this time, there is no option for showing anything but the dataset prefix. At one time, AFNI provided for storing an informative label with a dataset, but this feature was never used by anyone. The label still lives in the .HEAD file, actually, but is not used in any code.
