AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hey all,

Today we're doing a second test run on our Siemens Trio fMRI (outputting DICOM .IMA) to figure everything out for analysis. We're going to have a localizer, 160 anatomical slices, and 60 slices per run (there are 2) for functional data.

Last time we ran this, the data was collected in an oblique manner to avoid air pockets (sinuses, etc) as much as possible. We now know (thanks to Rick) that we cannot collect data this way and analyze in AFNI. Today, we're going to collect the data axially.

So my question is this: Based on this experimental design, are there any other pitfalls I should look out for? I need to register the functionals to the anatomicals, and the only way I could find to do that was the Nudge Dataset plugin, which isn't the proper way to do things (if I'm wrong, someone please correct me); this is where I was tripped up last time.

Thanks for helping out a newbie :)
