I'm pretty sure this is what 3ddot does with the -demean option. Except without the bells and whistles. But everyone likes bells and whistles, right?

Maybe you're just asking them to add more bells and whistles to 3ddot?

To be more specific, I am under the impression that demeaning and then taking the dot product of two vectors is equivalent to calculating the Pearson's r of the two vectors. If this is incorrect I'd like to know... ;)
