AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi all:

My aim is to map two function data on a surface with different colors
at the same time. From the "suma.pdf", there is a command-line way using
ScaleToMap as below:
Firstly use 3dVol2Surf: from volume function mapping dataset to
surface function mapping dataset -- Dset;
Secondly use ScaleToMap: from surface function mapping dataset to
surface color plane, a special Dset).
For my purpose, the two function data can be turned to color planes
and loaded into suma.

The "suma.pdf" also says both of the steps of 3dVol2Surf and
ScaleToMap have interactive manners. Now I know how to interactively
map function data on a surface and modify the options of coloring.
However, I can only load one function data each time (by the "Overlay"
on Afni panel). I think if the current surface mapping can be saved
to a color plane Dset , I will be able to load it into suma later, and
mutiple color planes can be loaded at the same time. But I did not
find such a "save" option on the Surface Controller panel.

I think my understanding about the interactive way of ScaleToMap (and
3dVol2Surf) is with some mistakes. Hope the suggestions pointing out
my wrong understanding and the right way to map two function dataset
on a surface interactively.

Thanks
