AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi,

My question concerns how to code trials in 3dDeconvolve when the trial
occurs over more than one TR. In my experiment I have six event types
of interest and a baseline, and each event is 2 TRs in duration. I am
trying to code my vector text file, where I assign a 1 or a 0 value
for each TR.

I am wondering how to code (what value to assign to) the 2nd TR of
each event of interest. It would seem problematic to assign it a
value of 1. Should I simply assign it a 0? It seems that if I do,
then that second TR would be considered as the onset of a baseline
trial (which is not actually the case). I should mention that the 2nd
TR will be encompassed in the TRs that lie within my minlag and maxlag.

How, then, should I code that 2nd TR?
If I code it as a zero, can you explain how running the program in
that manner would differ from running it for an experiment where the
event only lasted 1 TR?

Thanks,

Yael
