AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Discovered by Daniel Glen:

If you use the multi-desktop utility Spaces, there is a peculiar interaction with X11 programs. In particular, the 'hints' or 'tooltips' from AFNI in Space #1 (say) will popup when the cursor moves over the corresponding screen location in Space #2. This is a little confusing, since you get an AFNI hint when AFNI itself isn't visible!

As far as I know, there is no way around this problem at present, short of simply minimizing to the Dock all AFNI windows before going to a different Space. That, of course, is somewhat antithetical to the reasons people like multi-desktop setups.
