AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

We have a couple of datasets for which the intensity of certain slices seem to be mis-normalized upon reading them in with to3d. The original data are multi-slice T1 dicom images (176 slices in the entire volume, but each slice is a separate dicom file) from a Siemens Trio. Various other programs read the images in fine. One of our analysts also reports that one dataset was read in fine by an older version of to3d but that a newer version exhibits the problem.

Here's an example. The original slices are sagittal. Here's a coronal view showing the slices with various intensities (note the anomalous slices on the right side of the image).

Any ideas what's wrong and how we can fix it?

Thanks,

keith
