AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi Bob,

> Do you want to estimate average duration for each stimulus class, or individual duration for each stimulus separately (and then average)? These are two somewhat different approaches, and which is better isn't obvious, considering the general crappiness of FMRI data time series.

If FMRI data crappiness plays a significant role (funny: Gary Glover has popularized the term "poopiness" out here), then it would seem best to run 3dNLfim on trial averages of each stimulus class as opposed to on each trial of a given class. Either approach is fine with me, actually. Perhaps whichever folds most seamlessly into the current incarnation of 3dNLfim? Please let me know if you require a more firm decision or additional information.

Much obliged for the help!

Paul
