AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi, Colm,

Yes, I saw that it's quite easy to compile it yourself, but I was put off by the lack of prerequisites (we're missing a lot of them). I'm not sure how to go about retrieving them via yum (I've looked online, but I don't have much time)... If I give you some examples of packages that we're missing, would you please provide the yum commands that I'd use to download the packages (and that I'd generalize for the rest of what I'm missing)?

Below are a couple of examples of what I'm missing after I type "configure":

"checking for dvips... no
checking for tex... no
checking for latex... no
checking for gcc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for cl.exe... no
configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH"

There are many more that we're missing. How should I go about retrieving these packages, etc., including, importantly, the C compiler?

Also, will you please respond via e-mail to andrbaue@indiana.edu? Since this thread isn't strictly AFNI-related...

Or anyone else who has some suggestions for me.

Thank you very much for your time.

- Andrew
