AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

History of AFNI updates

Hi Jess,

Your AFNI version is 3-4 years old! This may not matter to
the problem, but it would be good to update it. If you want,
save the old version in case you want to compare any results.

Getting to your question, I gather that perhaps you have a
.HEAD file but no .BRIK file for that dataset. Because disk
space used to be very limited and expensive, when one did a
manual Talairach operation, AFNI would only write out the
.HEAD file. But you can't use only the .HEAD file for any
computations, just to view.

To write the .BRIK file, open that dataset as the underlay in
afni and:

Define Datamode -> Write: Underlay

Or you could overwrite it using adwarp, to avoid the GUI.

Is that the issue?
