In anticipation of funding, candidates are being considered for a postdoctoral research associate position in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences, Indiana University, in the laboratory of Cognition and Emotion directed by Dr. Luiz Pessoa. Work in the lab focuses on the interactions between cognitive and emotional systems. We use a range of approaches, including psychophysics, fMRI, and EEG. Requirements include a PhD in neuroscience, cognitive science, computational neuroscience, psychology, or related field in the brain sciences. Useful background includes psychophysics and fMRI. Experience in cognitive neuroscience and neuroimaging and familiarity with neuroimaging analysis platforms (such as AFNI/SPM/FSL) are desirable, as well as mathematical/statistical and programming skills (especially MATLAB and R). The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, conducting, and analyzing experiments and will work as part of a multidisciplinary research team. Projects will focus on understanding the interactions between emotion/motivation and executive function/sensory processing. The position offers excellent training in advanced aspects of neuroimaging data analysis, including connectivity analysis, machine learning, and other multivariate analysis techniques.
