AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

In anticipation of funding, candidates are being considered for a postdoctoral research associate position in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences, Indiana University, in the laboratory of Cognition and Emotion directed by Dr. Luiz Pessoa. Work in the lab focuses on the interactions between cognitive and emotional systems. We use a range of approaches, including psychophysics, fMRI, and EEG. Requirements include a PhD in neuroscience, cognitive science, computational neuroscience, psychology, or related field in the brain sciences. Useful background includes psychophysics and fMRI. Experience in cognitive neuroscience and neuroimaging and familiarity with neuroimaging analysis platforms (such as AFNI/SPM/FSL) are desirable, as well as mathematical/statistical and programming skills (especially MATLAB and R). The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, conducting, and analyzing experiments and will work as part of a multidisciplinary research team. Projects will focus on understanding the interactions between emotion/motivation and executive function/sensory processing. The position offers excellent training in advanced aspects of neuroimaging data analysis, including connectivity analysis, machine learning, and other multivariate analysis techniques. For further information, please contact Luiz Pessoa at lpessoa@indiana.edu.

Indiana University offers outstanding resources for neuroimaging and houses a 3T TIM Trio Siemens system on the first floor of the building of the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences. Indiana University is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer. Minorities and women are strongly encouraged to apply. Applications will be considered until the position is filled and the anticipated start date is Dec 1st 2009, or soon thereafter. Please email a CV, letter of intent, and 2-3 letters of recommendation to lpessoa@indiana.edu. Further information about the lab can be obtained at [emotioncognition.org].
