I would like to get some feedback about using freesurfer and surefit to obtain the surfaces for further use in SUMA. For someone without experience in either program, which software package would you recommend? I would like an answer limited stricty to (a) the issue of producing the surfaces for SUMA for further analysis of the fMRI data; (b) perhaps either program may have additional features related to structural analysis that may give it further added value.
I have only a single high resolution MRI from a 3T scanner for segmentation - will that be an issue in either software package? Is one easier to use relative to the other? My time is limited, as with everyone else, is one package faster to learn? I am not concerned about computer processing time, just the operator's time.
