Hi Rick,

I'll go ahead and try your suggestion today, but I wanted to let you know that I just found out that I get exactly the same crash on a Linux Amd 64 machine using the xorg 64bit binary, so perhaps the optimization settings during the compilation are not the problem.

Interestingly, I also found out that what throws 3ddot off seems to be the option "-demean": if I omit that, the program works just fine.
