Hello,
Debian packaging of AFNI seems to be stalled by the license of the 3DEdge library which is unfortunate because this keeps all of AFNI out of the Debian/Ubuntu repositories.

Apparently the 3DEdge license does not permit redistribution. Additionally the non-commercial use restriction is not compatible with the GPLv2 licenses of AFNI and GTS.
My thought is that 3DEdge can be removed from the Debian package so that the rest of AFNI/SUMA can be released. This affects 3dedge3 and 3dSkullStrip (I believe 3dSkullStrip already has flags to disable the use of 3DEdge--my thought is that they will become non-optional defaults with warnings to annouce this deviation from the core).
Opinions?
