AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi,

I am trying to generate a design matrix. I think I cannot use RSFgen for my experiment: Random permutation method is not suitable, because the order of the conditions is fixed. I also cannot use Markov Chain method, because certain conditions depend on what condition was "chosen" several steps before (not only on the immediately preceding condition). For example, E follows D, but only if B followed A.

I basically have the following four types of trials:

A B C D E F
A G C D H F
A B I D J F
A G I D K F

I really only can randomize for how long a condition is on (number of TRs). Condition A can be on for 1, 2, or 3 TRs; condition B - for 2, 3, or 4 TRs, etc.

So I was wondering what I can use to create a design matrix for my experiment?

Thanks,
Alena.
