AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

We are using RedHat v2.16 with GNOME Desktop and the AfNI xorg7 programs (64-bit).
There seems to be an issue with AfNI placing “\” were they do not belong. When we executed 3dDeconvolve, the program placed \’s in the matrix file and then was not able to read the matrix in the next step. The two text files attached belong together. The file “script.afni_proc.txt” is the afni_proc.py script that created the “proc.s9999.txt” file. Everything seems to be correct, however in “proc.s9999.txt,” you shall notice that in the 3dDeconvolve step, \’s were placed in ‘GAM’ to create ‘\G\A\M’. Have you ever seen this issue before? Would there be some type of incompatibility with our server software and the afni programs? There was some thought that afni is calling for a non-linux text editor to create these files. How could we identify the editor and change it to a proper editor? The was also thought that something with our python could be the root of the issue. Could this be true?

Thank you for your help.
