AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

3dcalc is the one of the simpler ways to do this, but a couple other choices are available. Dilating blobs was discussed in this thread:

[afni.nimh.nih.gov]
<[afni.nimh.nih.gov];

"There are no tools to dilate by a percentage, only by voxels or by mm distance (as with 3dcalc, 3dLocalstat). 3dAutomask does do dilation, but it clusters at the same time. That will work for many blobs (convex shapes), but it only takes integer values for the dilate and erode levels. 3dmerge has an erode option, but its dilate option is limited to restoring voxels removed in the erosion process for clustering purposes."
