AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi Bob,

Just a quick update...I tried the -2difMAD option on a PET image. For comparison, I also ran the analysis on one of my fMRI images (which represents, for one person, the beta weight for one condition of interest). According to 3dFWHMx, the PET image had a very large level of smoothing (22.5748 33.8648 14.3082). I was expecting something around 15-16mm on average given that I had applied a 12mm filter. But, given that PET data are inherently more smooth, this may make sense (and may even indicate that an additional 12mm level of smoothing is too much).

The fMRI image had a smoothness level in line with expectations (7.37775 7.36965 6.61553).

Thanks again for creating the -2difMAD option.
