Dear AFNI users-
We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:
https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov
Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.
The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.
Sincerely,
AFNI HQ

Has anyone had any success running SUMA in a virtual machine?
This works for me exclusively if I turn off 3d Acceleration (otherwise, I get an OpenGL error). This is probably more an issue with graphics support within virtualbox, but I was wondering if anyone had managed a workaround.
Thanks!

Hi AFNI Experts,
I had a few questions about Epi to Anatomical Alignment, specifically regarding boundary-based registration. I am interested in this approach because I am looking for ways to improve my anat-epi coregistration. I ran into the BBR method (Greve & Fischl, 2009), but lack context on its general use:
Does AFNI implement the BBR algorithm? Is this the -edge switch on align_e

Thank you for the reply.
Our admin is on vacation for the week, so it'll have to wait till then to update, as I don't have the necessary file permissions (and don't want to install my own unless necessary). I'll let you know if this doesn't resolve the issue.
While I've got you, do you think you could answer a couple questions about 3dQwarp?:

Hi All,
I'm trying to run 3dSkullstrip from an SSH connection. If I don't allow for X11 forwarding, 3dSkullstrip fails (output below). This would be fine except that some times I want to disconnect my SSH connection, run it with its own nohup commend or using the screen command. Any time I disconnect the ssh session, I relinquish X11 forwarding and 3dSkullstrip fails. Any way aro

Hi Rick,
Thanks for the quick reply!
The reason I ask is:
1) I am analyzing resting-state data for the first time and I want to make sure I'm not missing anything.
2) If I understand correctly, these methods differ slightly from what Power et al (2014) implemented for their own approach?
They seem to interpolate the censored time-points to perform frequency filtering on them

I want to make sure that I understand the bandpass + censoring, as described in afni_proc.py:
1) Bandpass regressors (sin-wave functions of increasing order) are included in a GLM, along with all other regressors.
2) Censored time-points are removed from the voxel time-series and all other regressors.
3) GLM is calculated on remaining time-points.
This approach is to avoid FFT bandpas
