Dear AFNI users-
We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:
https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov
Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.
The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.
Sincerely,
AFNI HQ

Hi-
When I run the script below, I get the following message:

Hi Gang-
So is it somewhat accurate to say that, if your regression model includes "brain" and BPRStot (which is a psychosis score), and your "brain" signals already reflect correspondence to a parametric regressor (reward prediction error, in this case), that the "BPRStot" coefficient that comes out of either 3dttest++ with a covariate or 3dMVM with a covariate r

Hi-
Thank you. Your response answer both questions of mine. I got the 3dMVM script to run.
Last question: do the first 2 subbriks characterize the effect of subject, with the effect of BPRStot REGRESSED OUT?
Thanks,

Hi Gang-
What I'm trying to do is (I think) super-simple. I am only interested in how a single covariate modifies the effect of Subj.
This is the output of the 3dttest++ script I ran.

Hi- Thanks for your responses so far.
I have some questions about the output of 3dttest++ with a covariate.
- Say I have whole-brain single-subject betas from an amplitude-modulated regressor (say, trial-by-trial prediction error estimates.
- Say my covariate is some score from a questionnaire, like childhood trauma, or Beck Depression Inventory (one score per subject).
- Say I have no oth

Ok. That helps me a lot. Thank you very much.
A few more, related questions.
1. Why does it always say, when I enter "afni &", "AFNI is detached from terminal"?
2. Why do dialogue boxes always start out teeny-tiny, until I stretch them?
3. Do I have to type "source ~/.bashrc" every time I open a terminal window?
Thanks,
Jim Waltz

Hi-
I have encountered a problem where I cannot type into an AFNI dialogue box, since the latest update (on Mac OS Sierra).
So, if I want to enter a p threshold in to a dialogue box, I cannot. If I want to clusterize, I cannot enter a minimum cluster size.
Have you seen this before, and what can I do about it?
Thanks,
Jim Waltz

Hi-
My understanding is that the functions of 3dRegAna have been subsumed under other programs.
Which is the best program now for doing whole-brain multiple regression in AFNI (say, examining whether a symptom or age, or the interaction between the two, predicts an evoked response in particular clusters of brain)? Is it 3dttest++, or 3dMVM?
Thanks,

Hi-
I had questions about the instructions for this, as documented here:
My understanding is that the PPI model has to be a full model. But does that mean every psychological regressor needs an interaction term?
In modeling data from a probabilistic reversal learning task, for example, I have four events of interest:
1. Valid rewards leading to stays;
2. Valid punishments leading t

Hi-
Using 3dDeconvolve with 2 amplitude-modulated regressors and -polort A, we get 4 sub-briks for each regressor. Can you tell me what those correspond to? Are those the betas for 3 derivatives each?
Thanks,
Jim Waltz

Hi-
When running 3dMEMA (in a terminal window on Mac OSX Lion), all went well until the very end, when I got THIS error message:
"Error in if (noMoM) { : missing value where TRUE/FALSE needed\n"
Can you tell me what this may mean?
The 3dMEMA script is attached.
Thanks,
