Hi John,

Note that our expert (by far) on this is no longer with
the group.

Just running MapIcosahedron with varying output densities
may already be doing what you want. It is not clear to
me what else you actually want SurfToSurf to accomplish.
Note that @SUMA_Make_Spec_FS already create surfaces at
mesh densities of 60 and 141. Multiple -ld options can
be added to create surfaces at other densities.

1) Using 'sphere' should not be necessary. The standard
mesh surfaces are created to map the topology of the
standard (aligned) spheres back to the coordinates of
the single subject. So the surface nodes are comparable
across subjects, though their coordinates are not.

2) I would have to look into this, but do not have the
time right now. Sorry to be brief.
