Lukas,

If you are interested in the talairach coordinates of the maximal z score within a cluster you can use the program 3dclust.

It outputs the maximum intensity (z score in your case) and the talairach coordinates that go along with it given the clustering options you select.

However I cannot tell from your question if you are trying to avoid clustering for some reason.
