It certainly appears that that's how GE is using the (0020,0032)
field, when you compare it to their proprietary data, but that's
not how I read the DICOM standard:

C.7.6.2.1.1 Image Position and Image Orientation

The Image Position (0020,0032) specifies the x, y, and z coordinates of the
upper left hand corner of the image; it is the center of the first voxel
transmitted.

Do you have any documentation on the GE usage of this attribute,
or of a convention among the MRI manufacturers to use this
attribute in that way? Before I start modifying that code, I'd really
like to have some idea of whether this is a special case or not.
