AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi Jeremy,

With max lag of 5, you can do both general linear tests, but with two slightly different indications.

If you want to test whether the two responses are different at any time lag, you can set your glt matrix as

00000000100000-100000
000000000100000-10000
0000000000100000-1000
00000000000100000-100
000000000000100000-10
0000000000000100000-1

If you want to test whether the two responses are different in their overall magnitude, then the glt vector would be just as you said,

00000000111111-1-1-1-1-1-1

The difference between the two tests are this: The acceptance of the null hypothesis in the first test would indicate the acceptance of the null hypothesis in the second hypothesis; On the other hand, the rejection of the null hypothesis in the second test would lead to the rejection of the null hypothesis in the first test.
