I'm planning to install Panther (10.3) soon, and will hopefully figure out the problems them. From what you say, the plugin loading code needs to be fixed. I had problems with this when I first ported AFNI to OS X, and from what you say, it looks like they changed something in the area of dynamic library loading. Ugh.
