one more comment:
another reason why I think there is something wrong with the node index is that the label file is for one region or spot. The nodes should be near one another and therefore be closer in numeric succession. For example, the 1D.dset file for one of our PREVIOUSLY succesful switches of a label file from FreeSurfer to AFNI looks like this:
71010 1 0 0
71011 1 0 0
71882 1 0 0
71883 1 0 0
71884 1 0 0
71885 1 0 0
71902 1 0 0
71903 1 0 0
71904 1 0 0
71917 1 0 0
71930 1 0 0
71947 1 0 0
71965 1 0 0
71966 1 0 0
71967 1 0 0
71982 1 0 0
71983 1 0 0
72896 1 0 0
A region of nodes near each other would be close in number like this. Not like the node indeces we are getting now (which look like this):
23643 1 0 0
15824 1 0 0
7007 1 0 0
15813 1 0 0
28751 1 0 0
36228 1 0 0
9136 1 0 0
9998 1 0 0
15804 1 0 0
26757 1 0 0
22675 1 0 0
28701 1 0 0
20586 1 0 0
19548 1 0 0
24703 1 0 0
28758 1 0 0
40428 1 0 0
33467 1 0 0
I hope i'm being clear.
