Hi Tim,
You are not running the T-shell (/bin/tcsh), you are running
bash (the error message comes from bash). So you would
have to add the abin directory to your path in a bash way
(such as exporting PATH in your .bashrc or .profile file).
My first question is, do you plan to run afni as root? In the
messages it shows that you are the root user. But I would
guess that you plan to run it as a normal user. To do that
you should log in as the normal user, and repeat steps
3-5 to fix your path. But even as a normal user, make sure
that you are running tcsh (if you want to run it, that is).
In any case, if you want to install it as root, you might want
to read "Installing AFNI - root user - basic instructions" at
[
afni.nimh.nih.gov].

Do you have the same user accounts on the machine, or
is it completely new? If the old accounts exist, then you
should probably install the binaries in the same directory
that they used to be.
Please let me know if you would like more details.
