AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hello-

I realized I had made a labeling error and ommitted the last section of the analysis in my last post (sorry about that!). following is the correct information. i still do not know if this will make any difference in the overall analyses

FWHM for original data (4 x 4 x 5 )

Program: 3dFWHM
Author: B. Douglas Ward
Initial Release: 20 February 1997
Latest Revision: 08 March 2004

count=17745
var =15355.637695
varxx=15505.972656 varyy=11580.620117 varzz=19237.478516
sx=2.385375 sy=2.906996 sz=2.519521

Gaussian filter widths:
sigmax = 2.39 FWHMx = 5.62
sigmay = 2.91 FWHMy = 6.85
sigmaz = 2.52 FWHMz = 5.93

FWHM for resampled data (1 mm cubed) with NN

Program: 3dFWHM
Author: B. Douglas Ward
Initial Release: 20 February 1997
Latest Revision: 08 March 2004

count=1419600
var =15354.784180
varxx=3909.888916 varyy=2953.261475 varzz=3938.596436
sx=1.354897 sy=1.572427 sz=1.349597

Gaussian filter widths:
sigmax = 1.35 FWHMx = 3.19
sigmay = 1.57 FWHMy = 3.70
sigmaz = 1.35 FWHMz = 3.18

FWHM for original data with 4 MM blur

Program: 3dFWHM
Author: B. Douglas Ward
Initial Release: 20 February 1997
Latest Revision: 08 March 2004

count=17745
var =12448.405273

sx=3.624854 sy=4.226595 sz=3.635826

Gaussian filter widths:
sigmax = 3.62 FWHMx = 8.54
sigmay = 4.23 FWHMy = 9.95
sigmaz = 3.64 FWHMz = 8.56

AVE = 9.01

and finally the resampled data with the same kernel

Program: 3dFWHM
Author: B. Douglas Ward
Initial Release: 20 February 1997
Latest Revision: 08 March 2004

count=1419600
var =13524.453125
varxx=344.937805 varyy=359.661743 varzz=382.955139
sx=4.413497 sy=4.321614 sz=4.187207

Gaussian filter widths:
sigmax = 4.41 FWHMx = 10.39
sigmay = 4.32 FWHMy = 10.18
sigmaz = 4.19 FWHMz = 9.86

AVE = 10.14

These differences did become smaller with a larger kernel (8 MM)- thanks!
