Before I proceed, the prelude:
You will need to download the latest version of AFNI. The code is still compiling, look for versions that post-date this posting.
1- I wrote a new script called @SUMA_Make_Spec_Caret which works fine on the data directory structure you sent me. I am hoping that its contents are pretty typical, though I am not sure what to make of the .LR. surfaces. At any rate the script will generate spec files for .L .R and .LR surfaces and suggest a command for you to execute at the end to look at your data. The script will automatically run caret_file_convert if necessary.
2- I had to modify suma to work well with the new surfaces.
Sample commands on your data would be:
@SUMA_Make_Spec_Caret -sid Humain
(answer 3 prompts with: 1, 1, 1)
afni -niml &
suma -spec Humain_lrh.spec -sv axialized3ddupped+tlrc.HEAD
