AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi Daniel,

The error message is due to the fact you answered the following question with an incrroect response:

The following two kinds of unbalanced designs are currently allowed:

(1) All factors are fixed -
1-way ANOVA; 2-way ANOVA type 1: AXB; and 3-way ANOVA type 1: AXBXC

(2) When a random factor (subject) is nested within another factor A,
each level of factor A contains a unique and unequal number of subjects -
3-way ANOVA type 3: BXC(A); 4-way ANOVA types 3: BXCXD(A);
and 4-way ANOVA type 5: CXD(AXB).

Does your unbalanced design belong to either of the above types? (1 - Yes; 0 - No) 1

Your unbalanced design does not belong to one of cases listed. In other words, GroupAna can only handle 5-way balanced, but not unbalanced, designs.

I have pretty much abandoned improving GroupAna because it is very difficult to work in Matlab, but I'm working on a different program that will have way much more flexibility in terms of modeling strategy including number of factors, design structure, random effect modeling, missing cells, etc.
