AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi Akiko,

You've got surfaces, so take advantage of them. Run your group analysis in surface-land. Take a look at Ziad's slides here, paying particular attention to slide 23:

[afni.nimh.nih.gov]

I think many users still do their individual analysis in volume-land, but then map and do group analysis in surface-land. You can use either AFNI's tools (may need the secret environment variable to enable "1D" processing using the normal 3d* tools), or Caret's (caret_command). If you're used to AFNI anyway, there may be some advantage to learning SUMA and doing your analysis with 1D files.

The Van Essen Lab no longer recommends use of Colin as a registration target; we now recommend the PALS_B12 atlas target. Your landmarks will work, with minor tweaking.
