AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Spatial smoothing typically is done with nice clean integer values for the kernel, like FWHM = 8 mm or something like that. However, when using a command like:

3dmerge -prefix dataset_smoothed -1blur_fwhm 4 -doall dataset+orig

To spatially-smooth a 3d+time EPIRT dataset, where the voxel dimensions are 3.75 X 3.75 mm in-plane X 3 mm thru-plane (i.e. slice-thickness), wouldn't -1blur_fwhm 3.76 effectively do the identical operation? In other words, does the -1blur_fwhm use the same logic as specifying clustering rmm?
