Hi Tino,
Just to be sure on another point, you downloaded and installed
fink 0.8.1 for Intel, is that right? I see the i386 in your
messages, so that seems appropriate. Otherwise, it certainly
looks like fink has messed up the glib packaging.
I've copied our 10.4_Intel glib files. Try copying these files
to your /sw/lib directory.

Of course, this is hoping that there are not other dependancies
that you might need for glib, but I'm not sure what else to
suggest right now.
