AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi Marnie,

Thanks for the information, that helps a lot.

The difference between your results and mine was that you
gave the command with '-fwhm 5', but your results were from
using '-fwhm 6'. Now I see the same thing.

Another thing that was clarified is the size of your mask.
That looks like you did a many-step dilation in +orig space
(presumably with '3dAutomask -dilate 6' or some such). That
will hurt you in the multiple comparison correction.

I expect that your mask goes far outside the actual brain.
You would be better off applying an anatomical mask, and
using that in your AlphaSim computation.

For example afni_proc.py no longer masks the data in orig
space (unless you tell it to). For details on why, please
see the "MASKING NOTE" section of "afni_proc.py -help".
