AFNI Message Board

Dear AFNI users-

We are very pleased to announce that the new AFNI Message Board framework is up! Please join us at:

https://discuss.afni.nimh.nih.gov

Existing user accounts have been migrated, so returning users can login by requesting a password reset. New users can create accounts, as well, through a standard account creation process. Please note that these setup emails might initially go to spam folders (esp. for NIH users!), so please check those locations in the beginning.

The current Message Board discussion threads have been migrated to the new framework. The current Message Board will remain visible, but read-only, for a little while.

Sincerely, AFNI HQ

Hi John,

Without -dicom_org, the files are taken either in the specific
order they are passed to the program (not typical), or they are
taken alphabetically, according to the input pattern/prefix.

Is sounds like the alphabetical ordering is correct, and using
it Dimon works fine. But there is something odd in a couple of
files that makes the sorting (-dicom_org) fail in the first and
last couple of volumes, which is difficult to figure out without
any data in hand.

Note that if your alphabetical ordering is correct, then you do
not need to worry about -dicom_org.

There is no requirement for left vs. right being first. What
matters is the acquisition order. Dimon needs the volumes to
come in chronological order, and within each volume, it needs
consistent slices to properly form the volume. On top of that,
there is timing information that goes with the slices for the
case of running 3dTshfit.

Typically the alphabetical ordering will match the acqusition
ordering. The -dicom_org and similar options are there for the
cases where the alphabetical ordering does not.
